STEINWERKS

Our Fixed gear hubs are a work of art. They're nothing short of sculpture in motion. Built using advanced modeling and manufacturing techniques our hubs are the lightest(268g Rear, 246g Front) and strongest high flanged fixed gear hubs available on the market today.

AXLES At Steinwerks we haven't overlooked the axles. Most companies utilize brittle steel track axles, or surface clear anodized aluminum. Our hubs begin with hard anodized aerospace aluminum axles designed to provide a lifetime of wear free use. When you purchase a Steinwerks hub you can ride with confidence that your axles won't wear over time.

BEARINGS Bearing technology has advanced significantly with the development of high precision ceramics. We believe all cyclists should benefit from this technology. We include ultra precision 6902 series Si3N4 Silicon Nitride bearings with every hub we produce. The tolerances on our ceramic bearings exceed by an order of magnitude even the most accurate steel ball bearings.

HUB BODIES Our Hub bodies are developed using complex modeling and manufacturing techniques. The dramatic cutaways and graduated thicknesses on our high flange hubs aren't just for show. They allow us to build incredibly strong, light, precision tolerance hubs that are also the most beautiful on the market today. Built using the most advanced aerospace aluminum alloys available, you can enjoy a lifetime's worth of riding on a set of our hubs.

BEARING RETAINERS We use multi axis machining to create our bearing retainers. They're extra thick, extra strong, and infinitely variable on each side for bearing load. The “C” clamp design uses a stainless steel allen cap screw to retain the bearing race to the hub.

MOUNTING HARDWARE Mounting hardware should be strong while not compromising frame integrity. We use an aluminum jam nut on our hubs that gently rides against the frame. On the outside, we use 8 mm stainless steel allen bolts with soft brass washers. This setup provides a lot of grip, while keeping your frame pretty for years to come.
